Executive Summary:
This report evaluates BEA WebLogic Portal 8.1 against our evaluation framework for customer portals. This portal platform packages facilities that will help you design, develop, deploy, and support customer portals that deliver a rich customer experience. It is a widely-used and well-proven portal platform. BEA claims an installed base of 3,000 customers, half of whom have used it for customer-facing applications. In addition, BEA has taken the offering through five major versions since its introduction in October 2001. The next major version is planned for early 2006.
